Thank you for visiting the Watkins-Nance Campus site.
We are one of the newest Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands and also one of the smallest clubs in the area. The size of our Club has allowed us to establish a close-knit community of parents, staff and members.
The Watkins-Nance Boys & Girls Club is a unique program that is made out of great, architectural minds and builders who believe in a strong foundation!
On a daily basis, we continue to build and bring additional elements to our program, while using crafty ideas of our members, parents and staff.
Parent participation has been a huge success here at Watkins-Nance. Imagine seeing moms and dads competing against their children in a hula hooping competition or marching in our very own Mardi Gras parade with personally made masks and banners!
WATKINS-NANCE PARENTS ARE THE BEST!
At Watkins-Nance, we are proud to be a part of the school's faculty meetings and the Student Improvement Council. These opportunities are especially helpful in exchanging information and ideas concerning Watkins-Nance students' academic success.
Watkins-Nance has made great strides to make sure that the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands has a home here.
This year, our goal for 2010-2011 is to create experiences that allow our members to be well-rounded in a variety of areas. We would not only like them to actively learn, but also build a sense of self, community and global awareness.
Other programs typically focus on only one aspect of a child's life, like sports or academics. Our enrichment programs ensure that our club stands out from the rest. We focus on skills that help our members build character, develop creativity, and BE GREAT.
The main goal of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands is to provide a fun and safe environment where kids can grow, learn and explore. At Watkins-Nance Elementary, we are catering to our youth in the very best way!
We encourage you to come visit our club, speak with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands staff and learn how our staff, along with Watkins-Nance Elementary, can help your child BE GREAT!

I am truly passionate about Watkins-Nance BGC because I consider this to be a calling and not a job! I thrive off of bringing both the national & club chosen programs to life, drilling knowledge, and spreading love to each of my members. My duty is to provide a fulfilling environment that allows the members to be themselves, but also dream about what they can and will be someday!!
I am a product of the Boys & Girls Club of the Low Country (Charleston, SC), and I have been working as a club volunteer since the age of 13! I am a witness to the BGC providing a life changing experience. I have worked in customer service since the age of 15, so I'm fully aware of how to serve my fellow people!!!
I am now an official employee w/ Richalnd 1 here at Watkins-Nance, so I have full access to our great students and assisting in educating them during both school hours and in Boys & Girls Club!

~My goals for this upcoming year is to embark upon team recruitment, which involves, the Watkins-Nance members, staff, parents, school officials, and the community. This will allow us to bring in more members and share the ultimate Watkins-Nance BGC experience! ~I would also like to take our Jr. Torch Club members outside of their element and take them on a road trip to Washington, DC. There they will have the opportunity to learn more about the their country outside the classroom and BGC setting!! ~Partnering with the surrounding colleges & businesses is also a important goal, so we can heighten the club's experience for our members and spread the word about our club far and near!
We would like to thank our principal, Dr. Cohens and the Watkins-Nance family for allowing us the opportunity to be here and share the BGC experience!! I would also like to thank my parents for allowing their children to be apart of our missions and supporting us in Being Great!!!We are excited about this year and what has yet to come!
