We are a program-focused after-school center. We have national programs that are proven to enhance youth development. We focus on the five core areas of youth development (Character & Leadership, Education, Health & Life Skills, Arts, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation) in an educational and FUN environment. We plan our core program areas around the interests of the members as well as the curriculum of the school. We take pride in our club, our school and our community.
Our Boys & Girls Club at Lake Murray Elementary is a family. We take the time to get to know our members and their families. We celebrate the great things in their life and support them when times are tough. We work hard to help each of our members reach goals and experience success. And, we have FUN!!!
Our goal for 2010 is to be more program-focused. As always, we will be more than an after-school daycare; we want our programs to be both fun and educational.
By focusing on programs, we are laying a foundation for our members to grow, explore and become more confident and able to reach their goals in life. Also, members are more engaged in programs and events when a club is more program-focused. Lastly, our goal is to have FUN and BE GREAT!
Since 2008, the Lake Murray Elementary staff has been very supportive of our Club. They have donated supplies to our club (books, games, crayons, glue, etc). They chose our Club as one of their United Way organizations, shared ideas and contacts that can support our club and have participated in our events (STEP try-outs, drama at Christmas). The Lake Murray Elementary staff members are encouraging with both their actions and words.
We encourage you to come visit our club, speak with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands staff and learn how our staff, along with Lake Murray Elementary, can help your Lake Murry Mariner BE GREAT!

Dr. Steven Booth has been in education of some sort for going on 15 years now.
He loves to sing and has been in over 300 theatre and film productions since he was 18.
He loves to watch movies and spending time with his new wife and step-son as well as seeing his two children who live in Ohio and who are graduates of Lake Murray Elementay. GO MARINERS!
Steven wishes to express his deep gratitude to the parents and faculty and staff of Lake Murray who lets Steven play a small part in their student's lives.
